Spiral Staircase for our Office 

For internal access to our Office at the GI-RO plant in Vreden, a VARIO-type spiral staircase in solid grating construction was installed.
The staircase also functions as an escape route and is therefore designed in accordance with DIN standards for an area load of 5 kN/m² and a point load of 2 kN.

With a diameter of 2700 mm and a floor-to-floor height of 3785 mm, the staircase provides safe and space-saving access to the first floor.
The construction comprises 18 steps as well as a resting platform and an exit landing – all made of anti-slip gratings with a 30/10 mm mesh.

Special attention was paid to the railing: a custom design made of 40 × 8 mm flat steel with a lowered bottom chord gives the staircase a distinctive look while enhancing walking safety. The entire spiral staircase is coated in DB 703 fine texture matt, ensuring a high-end appearance and long-lasting surface protection. 

This project is a prime example of how functionality, safety and design go hand in hand at GI-RO – even for internal applications.
