Oktaneum, Münster

Exclusive Collection Hub for Automotive Masterpieces

A few years ago, a former woodworking production site in Münster was transformed into a truly unique facility for collector vehicles. The name Oktaneum is a concept in itself: “Oktan” stands for fuel quality, and “-eum” derives from the Latin word for space – together meaning “a place for fine fuel.”

The entire conversion and interior design were focused on creating a functional yet aesthetically pleasing environment for the storage of collector cars. The Oktaneum is also a place to enjoy spending time — with friends, family, or even alone with your classic car and a cup of coffee. Events such as scenic drives and the relaxed “Schraube lockern” (loosely translated as “Loosening the Screw” – a casual car meet-up) are integral parts of the Oktaneum concept.

Today, the Oktaneum also features a stylish lounge bar, a rental service offering an original Citroën 2CV, private events and celebrations, “Classic Days” with up to 30 vehicles, guided regional tours, driver training sessions, and much more. And importantly, it includes a fully equipped professional workshop — which recently required a robust, durable, and visually fitting ramp.

For this, proven GI-RO gratings were used: mesh size 30x30 mm, bearing bar 25x2 mm, with double anti-slip protection. To ensure maximum stability when driving over the gratings, several disc clamp fixings were installed.

A special thank-you goes to Oktaneum owner Arndt Hovestadt, who opened his doors to us and provided fascinating insights into the history and philosophy of this exceptional place.
