GI-RO heavy-duty gratings are the right choice for all areas experiencing car, lorry, construction machinery or forklift traffic. During the manufacturing process, we can control the dimensioning and thus the load-bearing capacity of the gratings as required to suit your application.
Ideal in settings where heavy loads are moved, such as pit covers, car wash halls and covers for entrances and access roads.

Technical information
Structure of a GI-RO heavy-duty grating
Heavy-duty gratings consist of parallel bearing bars into which flat steel crossbars are pressed during the manufacturing process.
For a grating height of up to 60 mm we use our T-profile; for a grating height of 70 mm and more, we use flat steel as edging.

Materials and surface finishes
Depending on the intended use, our gratings are made with different materials and are delivered with various surface finishes. As standard, the heavy-duty gratings are manufactured in S235JR steel and are hot-dip galvanised in accordance with DIN EN ISO 1461. For quantities of 25 m² or more, these can also be made in the harder S355JR steel grade.
Slip resistance
Dirt, oil, grease or water on floor coverings that can be walked on or driven over always means an increased risk of slipping. Thanks to our gratings with special slip resistance, you can still enjoy reliable grip in all situations. Our heavy-duty gratings offer high slip resistance by means of varying recesses in the bearing bars and/or crossbars. Depending on the profile, our gratings thus meet the requirements of the R10 to R11 rating classes.
Load values
Heavy-duty gratings are extremely stable construction elements that can bear very heavy loads. The respective load values depend on the design and the clear span. The load-bearing capacity can be adjusted according to your wishes by changing the bearing bar spacing and the bearing bar type.
