A letter from Dirk Brütsch,
Chief Executive Officer

March 2023

GI-RO was founded almost fifty years ago as a result of the coming together of 10 people, all boasting different strengths, and who joined this start-up for the most diverse reasons – this was the start of a successful corporate story.

As is true of life in general, GI-RO has experienced some ups and downs over the past 50 years. With little means but armed with progressive ideas, the founding generation built a highly successful production company that always managed to demonstrate a high level of innovation. Still, financial independence always took precedence over short-term profit maximisation – a wise decision made at an early stage.

The first generation of shareholders passed on the baton in 2003, then a next generation grew up and went their own way. Production was modernised, new markets were tapped into, and the product range was expanded. An unusually high drive for innovation, curiosity, courage and sincerity were the common thread running through the company. And these qualities are, as it were, embedded in GI-RO’s DNA.

When we talk about GI-RO’s DNA today, we refer to over 130 highly motivated people who have made this success possible. As a team of personalities with diverse skills and experience, they passionately pursue excellence against the backdrop of the proud tradition of a successful company history. A keen ability to spot future market challenges is one of GI-RO’s key traits. This results in a demand to develop intelligent and intuitive solutions.   The outcome: innovative products for a wide range of markets.

As CEO of this company, I invite you to see for yourself that this company is exactly as I have described it. I guarantee that we treat our customers, colleagues and suppliers with respect and maintain an open dialogue.

I am proud to have been GI-RO’s CEO for a good 20 years and I will continue to equip the team to take on the challenges of the future with passion, humility and responsibility.
